This year, the Rapid City Area Chamber of Commerce sets out to land the single largest Economic Development boom ever!  Your hard working Board of Directors and dedicated Chamber staff are determined to educate our 1,150 members about the resources available from Rapid City Economic Development Partnership, Black Hills Business Development Center, the Small Business Administration, and right here within your Chamber membership that can help your business be more successful! We want your business to GROW! We want you to NEED more employees to assist you in expanding your business! We want to serve our members and help their employee base grow by a minimum of just one full time employee per business. Imagine the economic impact 1,150 new jobs would have on our community! This employment boom would be the result of each Chamber member growing their business enough that we each require one additional full time person! The Rapid City Area Chamber of Commerce members can achieve this goal.

In the Rapid City community, like all others, it is from profitable businesses that all other benefits are derived. Success in achieving this fundamental goal is how we provide jobs and produce the wealth to finance all the governmental, civic, educational, cultural, and charitable needs that our beautiful Rapid City community is faced with every day. There is one reason for the Rapid City Chamber to exist and that is to corral our resources and do whatever is necessary to keep the area's economic condition at a level where businesses will invest their time and capital here in hope of making a profit.

The Chamber of Commerce is a vehicle through which business and professional people work together for the common good of the community. We must invest our energy, gear up for our challenges, and find solutions that bring success for the community whether we are tackling the Downtown Business Improvement District, or working to have all members of our community live in “unity”, and not simply settle for a “Year of Unity”.

So, who is the "we" that does all this? "We" are you. You as a Chamber member and all of your business and professional friends who are also Chamber members. You are the Chamber of Commerce. You provide ideas, drive, objectives, funds, and volunteer hours to keep the Chamber doing what it does. You are the Rapid City Area Chamber of Commerce and without you, there would not be a Chamber.
