Concert Series Kick-Off ft. Pumpin' Ethyl

Can’t wait for the Thursday night Summer Concert Series at Main Street Square? You don’t have to. Visit Downtown Rapid City for the Concert Series Kickoff with two back-to-back Saturday concerts from great local bands. Pumpin’ Ethyl will take the stage on Saturday, May 25. Just like the Summer Concert Series on Thursdays from June to August, the music will begin at 5:30 p.m. and conclude at 8:30 p.m.

Mayor, City Council and School Board Candidate Forum

Democracy in Action and Friends of Rapid City Parks will host a forum for mayoral, city council and school board candidates. The event is free and the public is encouraged to bring questions. This will be the last forum before the election on June 4.

10th Annual Yellow Bike-a-thon

Summer Concert Series ft. Dogs Without Sweaters

We've heard your requests, and Main Street Square will add a new element to Summer Nights. This year there will be two stages and twice the fun! Enjoy two different genres of music every week, one on the Summer Nights stage at Seventh and St. Joseph streets, and one on the Main Street Square stage, at Sixth and Main streets. Join us in Downtown Rapid City on Thursdays this summer for the Summer Concert Series at Main Street Square featuring live bands, kids' activities, food, and an assortment of refreshments at the Bud Light Beverage Garden. On Thursday, June 6, Dogs Without Sweaters will take the stage from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Local band Dogs Without Sweaters has opened for Three Dog Night, Creedence Clearwater, Great White, Slaughter and LA Guns, and was voted Best Rock Band in the Black Hills in 2012.

39th Black Hills Quilt Show & Sale

Location: Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Admission: $5 per day The show features over 500 quilts, from king size bed covers to intricate miniatures. The three day event includes demos, vendors from all across the country, trunk shows, quilts for sale, Hospice Silent Auction,raffle quilts, and special exhibits.

Kid's Carnival

The Kids’ Carnival at Main Street Square focuses on one thing: Kids! The day is all about the little ones and will be highlighted with the Bug City Music Festival, performing at noon, 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Local advocacy groups, organizations and vendors will provide kids’ games, interactive art, edible food decorating and other activities. Thank you to event sponsors Family Thrift Center and Prairie Market. Join Family Thrift Center and Prairie Market for kids' activities and prizes, such as a Little Tikes kid-sized basketball hoop. If you work up a hunger at their bushel basket toss, grab a $1 slice of pizza at the Bellatoria pizza trailer. Proceeds will benefit a nonprofit organization.
