128th Annual Meeting

Rapid City, SD – The Rapid City Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its 128th Annual Meeting on Saturday, October 18 at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center Rushmore Hall. The evening will begin with a social at 6 p.m. followed by dinner and a program at 7 p.m.
This year’s theme is “Creating a Community of BIG Possibilities” and the featured guest speaker is Holly Hoffman. Holly was born and raised in Eureka, South Dakota and was the last remaining member of the Espada Tribe and the last woman standing on CBS’ reality show “Survivor Nicaragua.”
The Young Professional of the Year Award, the Black Hills Hero Award and the George Award will be presented during the annual meeting.
The “Young Professional of the Year Award” is sponsored by the Young Professionals Group of the Rapid City Area Chamber of Commerce and is presented to an outstanding young professional in the Rapid City area who demonstrates vision, professionalism, and involvement resulting in a positive impact on the community.
The Rapid City Convention & Visitors Bureau will present their “Black Hills Hero Award” to a person or organization who has been instrumental in bringing a large number of people to Rapid City and the Black Hills for an event or a convention.
The Chamber’s Board of Directors will present the Chamber’s most prestigious honor, the “George Award.” The person receiving this honor is characterized as an individual who has, over a period of time, provided leadership to our community in a variety of ways. In other words, “They didn’t wait to let ‘George’ do it, they did it themselves.”
During the 128th Annual Meeting the Chamber will recognize Chamber Board Chair Bryan Vulcan of FourFront Design, Inc. for his leadership this past year. Bryan will pass the gavel of leadership to incoming Board Chair Marnie Herrmann of Security First Bank.
