Chamber Membership Passes Articles of Incorporation
– By Rapid City Chamber
Thank you to each of you who came out and voted in last night’s special membership meeting. As a member-driven organization it was important we hear from you. Thank you to the Grand Gateway Hotel for hosting the April Mixer and providing a venue for members to vote on the proposed Articles of Incorporation. After counting the votes, the articles have PASSED – moving us another step closer in the Chamber becoming a division of Elevate Rapid City.
So what comes next?
The Chamber will remain the Chamber. For more than 132 years we have worked to connect, advocate and promote the small business community in Rapid City. Now, we will be able to do that and even more. Your continued support will be necessary for us to continue with our mission and vision of the organization.
Years ago, Economic Development was a division of the Chamber of Commerce. They built their first incubator on the SD School of Mines & Technology Campus and moved out. This cycle of Chambers and Economic Developments separating and coming back together has been a nationwide trend. Bringing our organizations together is not a new concept, but it is an exciting opportunity for the Rapid City community.
There is still work to be done as we work through this transition. We will not cease in providing you opportunities for networking, promoting your business, and advocating on your behalf on the local, state and Federal level.
Thank you for your support and continued support of the Rapid City Chamber of Commerce.
